Numarine Introduces Classic Superyacht Line With Timeless Design Philosophy

Turkish Builder Launches 38XPC And 39MXPC Models Emphasizing Heritage And Harmony Over Contemporary Excess

Turkish yacht builder Numarine has introduced a Classic superyacht line with two initial models, the 38XPC and 39MXPC, marking a significant shift in the builder’s design philosophy. The range draws on the company’s existing explorer yacht platforms while introducing a fresh aesthetic direction that prioritizes timeless principles over contemporary trends. The new line represents a deliberate departure from the highly optimized, contemporary explorer yachts that have defined Numarine’s recent output. Exteriors are by Can Yalman, naval architecture is by Umberto Tagliavini, and the initial interiors are by Italian studio Hot Lab, part of the Swedish design hub Viken Group. According to Yalman, the Classic Line emerged from a period of reflection within the design team. After years of working on cutting-edge explorer platforms, there was a desire to reconnect with more timeless principles of naval design.

“The Classic Line emerged quite naturally from a period of reflection,” says Yalman. “After years of working on highly optimised, contemporary explorer yachts, there was a desire to reconnect with more timeless principles of naval design. At the same time, we sensed a growing desire for this direction, perhaps a need for a more reflective, balanced approach to yachting. One that moves away from excess, instead emphasises harmony, connection with nature, and a more timeless, almost romantic idea of life at sea.” Numarine developed the new line in direct response to client interest, suggesting that the market is evolving toward a more measured aesthetic. The 39MXPC features a reconfigured aft section that includes a Jacuzzi and an open terrace positioned closer to the water, creating what the yard describes as a sociable onboard setting. This layout demonstrates how the Classic Line maintains practical innovation while embracing heritage-inspired proportions.

The 38XPC, by contrast, employs a more traditional arrangement with an emphasis on proportion and heritage cues. Both models retain the core engineering principles that have made Numarine’s explorer yachts respected in the market. Umberto Tagliavini, the naval architect, emphasizes this continuity: “With the new Classic superyacht line, we are proud to maintain the same core principles of efficiency, seaworthiness, stability and autonomy for which Numarine is known.” Patrik von Sydow, newly appointed CEO at Numarine, frames the Classic Line as a strategic evolution for the builder. “This Classic Line represents a natural and strategic evolution for Numarine. It allows us to broaden our design language and reach a wider audience while staying true to the core principles that define the brand: efficiency, capability, and usability. In an industry often driven by fast-changing trends, the Classic Line offers a more enduring perspective: yachts designed not just for today, but for lasting relevance. We are really excited to see how the industry reacts.”

The launch comes during a period of momentum for Numarine. The builder has experienced increasing global demand for its XP Series, which ranges from 22 to 47 metres. In June 2025, Numarine appointed Chris Gore as its new sales and marketing director, bringing experience from the leisure marine sector. In August 2025, the yard rolled out the second hull of its 30XP model, the brand’s 30-metre explorer superyacht equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system. The timing of the Classic Line launch reflects broader market dynamics in the superyacht sector. As clients increasingly seek vessels that balance cutting-edge capability with timeless aesthetics, builders are responding with design philosophies that emphasize longevity over trend-chasing. For FYI Yachts and other international brokerages, the introduction of heritage-inspired models like the 38XPC and 39MXPC expands the range of options available to discerning clients seeking vessels with enduring appeal and proven engineering foundations.
