Formula 1 Star Charles Leclerc Christens His New Riva 102 Corsaro Super, Sedici

Riva Delivers a Bespoke Masterpiece, Blending High Performance with Unrivaled Italian Luxury

Italian shipyard Riva, a distinguished brand within the Ferretti Group, recently marked a significant milestone with the launch of the twentieth unit from its esteemed 102 Corsaro Super yacht series. This magnificent 30.2-meter vessel, now christened Sedici, gracefully entered the water at the yardโ€™s La Spezia facilities, an event attended by its discerning owner, none other than Monegasque Formula 1 racing driver Charles Leclerc. This marks a return to Riva for Leclerc, who previously owned the 25-meter Riva 82 Diva, L’As Bleu, demonstrating his enduring appreciation for the brand’s blend of performance and luxury. The 102 Corsaro Super represents an evolution of Riva’s highly popular 100 Corsaro model, embodying a sporty flybridge design characterized by sleek lines and a dynamic presence on the water. The collaborative genius of Officina Italiana Design, a partner with Riva for over three decades, along with the Ferretti Groupโ€™s Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Engineering Department, shaped this iconic yacht.

Sedici stands as a reflection of Leclerc’s personal aesthetic, with his direct involvement in selecting much of the yacht’s luxurious appointments. The exterior spaces, tailored to his preferences, feature Minotti-designed furniture complemented by decorative cushions from Jim Thompson, creating an environment of sophisticated comfort. The expansive flybridge is meticulously designed for elegant entertaining, boasting a custom bar unit, an oversized grill, an induction hob, dual refrigerators, and an ice maker. Descending to the water level, the generous 35-square-meter beach club provides an inviting oasis, further enhanced by an inflatable platform for water toys, complete with a swim ladder and a bespoke hauling ramp. Inside, the contemporary interiors continue the theme of personalization. Leclerc selected all the main furniture and furnishings from designer Poliform, and even extended his involvement to custom door handles, ensuring every detail resonated with his unique style. For an unparalleled multimedia experience, Bang & Olufsen audio/video systems have been seamlessly integrated into the main lounge and the master suite.

The master suite’s bathroom is a study in luxury, adorned with polished Calacatta Vagli Oro marble, which expands the sense of space while offering a sculptural elegance. Guest bathrooms and other surfaces feature Corian Calacatta Greige, maintaining a consistent high-end finish. The selection of Frette for bed linen, bath towels, beach towels, duvets, and mattress toppers, alongside Christofle tableware in the social and dining areas, underscores a commitment to premium quality throughout the yacht. Propulsion for Sedici comes from twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L EPA Tier III engines, enabling a comfortable cruising speed of 24 knots and a thrilling top speed of 28 knots. The yacht is also equipped with state-of-the-art stabilization solutions, including Hydrotab Interceptor trim tabs, Sleipner Vector Fins, and Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizers, which together significantly mitigate rolling, ensuring exceptional comfort both at anchor and while underway. Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi expressed his delight, remarking on Leclerc’s reciprocal passion for Riva as a testament to the brand’s unparalleled standards of beauty, liveability, and technology, affirming that Sedici embodies a truly unrivaled maritime experience.
