Custom Dolphin Blue Livery Distinguishes the Latest 80-Metre Hybrid Superyacht
The superyacht industry turned its eyes to Vlissingen, Netherlands, as Damen Yachting successfully launched the second hull of its flagship Amels 80 series, now identified as Netto II. This significant milestone marks the progression of the shipyard’s next-generation Limited Editions line, following the delivery of the first unit, Pangea, in late 2025. Sold to a seasoned owner in December 2022, just months after the model’s initial unveiling, the vessel began construction on speculation before being tailored to the specific requirements of her new custodian. With the technical launch now complete, the yacht enters the final outfitting phase with delivery scheduled for May 2026, just in time for the summer Mediterranean cruising season.
While sharing the robust naval architecture and 80-metre platform of her predecessor, Netto II commands a distinct presence on the water thanks to a customized exterior finish. Designer Espen รino has penned a profile that is now accentuated by a dolphin blue metallic hull and a platinum bootstripe, contrasting sharply with the white superstructure. This aesthetic choice sets her apart from the first hull and highlights the flexibility of the Limited Editions concept, which allows owners to apply significant personalization to a proven engineering platform. The yacht was previously spotted in transit from the builder’s hull construction facility in Galati, Romania, to the Netherlands in August 2024, signaling the transition from structural steelwork to the intricate installation of luxury systems.
The interior arrangement promises a departure from the standard, with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design tasked with curating the living spaces for the owner and up to 14 guests. While specific details remain closely guarded, industry reports indicate the inclusion of a speakeasy bar designed to evoke a 1960s casino atmosphere. This specific customization reflects the owner’s step up in size and capability, as Netto II is believed to replace a 34.9-metre Nordlund vessel of the same name. The significant jump in volume to 2,175 GT allows for seven cabins and accommodation for 21 crew members, ensuring a high service ratio appropriate for a vessel of this magnitude.
Regarding on-water amenities, the Amels 80 platform is designed to maximize outdoor living. The vessel features a massive 200-square-metre sundeck equipped with an oversized Jacuzzi and a dedicated owner’s deck below. The beach club serves as a primary social hub, offering unfolding sea terraces on three sides and a comprehensive wellness centre containing a gym, hammam, and sauna. This area is flooded with natural light filtering through the glass-bottomed pool located on the main deck aft. As the project moves toward its final sea trials, Damen Yachting reports a strong order book, with five Amels 80 builds currently among the nine superyachts under construction or on order at the yard.
