Description
Trumpy yachts are wooden masterpieces, hand crafted and custom-built to perfection by master shipwrights. They are some of the most exquisite yachts ever produced.
Premier yacht designer John Trumpy, three generations of Trumpy and a team of skilled craftsmen designed and built distinctive wooden boats at the Trumpy yard from 1947 to 1974.
A Trumpy boat is easily recognizable for it’s classic design, beautiful lines, striking finishes and impeccable craftsmanship.
Founder John Trumpy, a Norwegian born naval architect and third generation boat builder, began building custom boats in 1910. Heralded as the “Rolls Royce of motor yachts” Trumpy yachts were commissioned by such well-known families as Dupont, Giggenheim, Chrysler, Firestone and Dodge. The Trumpy Sequoia served as the presidential yacht for eight presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to John F. Kennedy. Today fewer that 100 Trumpy yachts survive.
Motor yacht “Gypsy d’Azur” was featured in Millionaire Magazine in 1997.
She would make a fantastic live aboard yacht while making the Great Loop.
