This “detuned” version of the venerable and highly regarded QSM-11’s took a great engine and essentially made it capable of running forever with regular servicing – sadly, since the 635HP package was only about $10,000 more when these boats were new, almost everyone ordered them that way — understandable at the time, but the years have proven out the benefits of smaller turbos and injectors, especially in our current high fuel cost environment!!
