1986 Symbol, 44′ Trawler  (not sundeck)

These are rare and hard to find as they were only in production for a few years. (Easily single handed)  $50K invested by previous owner in 2011. Current owner is a mechanical guy so she is sound mechanically. She could use some cosmetics. She was prepared for a 2012 for planned (not taken) great loop trip. Some of the rebuilds are listed below. This is a very spacious, sound and attractive boat and handles exceptionally well. FRP construction with a true 1 1/8″ thick solid fiberglass bottom.

 MAIN ENGINES:

Twin 3208 Caterpillar Turbo diesels at 375 hp ea. low hours.

RECENT CATERPILLAR SURVEY shows these mains to be in excellent condition. These blocks were cast (manufactured) when the best marine alloy was available. Highly praised as one of the most robust marine engines ever made. All rubber (belts, hoses, impellers) replaced complete salt water cooling system removed, cleaned and reinstalled general oil, fuel & filters serviced. Recent oil and filter change both sides

BATTERIES:

Cleaned, serviced and kept filled with distilled water and Epsom salt

GENERATOR:

15 KW Westerbeke. Fuel and Water pumps rebuild/replaced, all glow plugs replaced, fuel & filter service, 2 oil and filter changes since Jan, 2012 with less than 12 hours run time.
