Description

This rare bullnose, wood hull, aft-cabin model is in excellent condition. It has been carefully maintained its whole life, kept in a covered slip in brackish water conditions in Eastern Virginia off the Chesapeake Bay. Stylishly upgraded and completely unique-looking, she attracts attention whenever she goes. Many vintage yacht owners believe that Chris-Craft built its finest boats in the 1950’s.

The boat is structurally sound with NO deteriorated wood or dry rot, built from the
best grade mahogany and double-planked on the bottom. Although the hull is wood, the
wheelhouse is fiberglass. In recent years, a complete aesthetic renovation has been
completed. Decks and cabin tops have been waterproofed with fiberglass cloth and epoxy
so the boat may be taken out of its covered slip protection and will withstand weathering
conditions. The boat has been painted with a durable custom off-white Interlux mix.
The entire interior has been refinished and presents like new for it’s vintage. The present owner removed one of the berths in the master stateroom, converting it to a large desk which is perfect for business or video-computer activity but can be converted back into a bunk if desired. The other single berth now has a double mattress. Constellation would be an extremely comfortable liveaboard with a continued life for many years.

Constellation is powered by twin Chrysler Imperial V-8 290 Gasoline FWC engines. Age and hours are not verified, but are in good condition and dependable for normal use. Good compression and  exhaust show no signs of burning oil, excessive water vapor or fuel blow by. In recent years, electronic ignition has been installed, new alternators, and carbs rebuilt.
Carefully maintained with oil changes every year and consistent oil pressure, the current owner has only put less than 10 hours on the engines per year.

The present owner has been with her for 16 years and has used her primarily as a summer
live-aboard and maintained with an open checkbook.  The owner wishes to pass her on to the next discriminating Chris- Craft connoisseur who appreciates beauty of a vintage yacht with classic lines and the warmth of wood inside and out.
