Description
Owned by an industry professional and multiple yacht owner, this Intrepid 409 Valor is customized with well thought out factory upgrades, has recently completed engine service, and is ready for immediate delivery with remaining engine warranty.
World renowned for craftmanship, Intrepid has a rich history of producing fast, efficient, and smooth-running center consoles. Built to order, each boat has finishes and customizations seldom found on production boats. A stepped hull gives efficient cruising speeds approaching 60 miles per hour all while riding on top of the water – letting the boat skip over chop and land gently without pounding. Triple 400HP Verados are painted to match the custom metallic Imron hull paint. Custom upholstery double stitching, hardwood cabin flooring, and upgraded cabin cabinetry give the boat an interior feel as rich as it looks on the water.
The 409 Valor is a boat that can truly do it all. With enough cockpit, helm, and forward seating to entertain a small crowd, the boat has a unique layout that maximizes the deck and cabin space more efficiently than most all center consoles in its class. While most larger center consoles feature a small cabin forward of the helm and a seating area in the bow, the 409 Valor cleverly swaps those two areas. By putting the cabin forward in the bow and bringing the outdoor seating area aft, passengers experience a much smoother ride underway by being further aft in the boat. With guests sitting just forward of the helm, the layout also keeps the captain involved in the conversation and entertainment.
Perhaps most importantly, the layout allows the cabin to be built underneath the deck of the seating area, which cannot be done with the traditional center console layout. Without sacrificing exterior space and seating, the boat creates a much more accommodating cabin with two berths, hull side windows, and separate shower stall.

The large foredeck is great for laying out, handling lines, or fishing. An elevated bow rail also keeps passengers safe and makes it easy to access the foredeck from the cockpit. Multiple overhead skylights and hatches give natural light and ventilation to the cabin down below. The bow cleats are retractable and the windlass is hidden below a deck hatch, both of which create trip free deck access and uninterrupted exterior lines.
The main seating area is situated just forward of the helm area and aft of the cabin access, covered by an extra-long and full-beam hardtop. The L shaped starboard side lounge has a removeable table and pull-out seat bottom to create a true forward facing sun lounge. The port side creates opposing facing seating and can comfortably sit two adults. The entire area can be enclosed (rigid enclosure included and stored offsite), or open and protected with custom-made seat covers. When the enclosure is up, each panel can be pinned to the underside of the hardtop to open the area up and create air flow.
The hardtop has been painted to a matte finish to reduce glare. It also has overhead LED lights that can be selected white, red, blue, or purple, which match the color options for the deck courtesy lights. The forward-facing lounge seat hinges up for easy battery and electronics access. Access to the cockpit and helm is on the port side. A large, electric ice box slides out of the gunnel for easy drink storage that is completely out of the way when desired.
The helm is fully complimented with two Garmin 22” displays on either side of the console. A dedicated auto pilot display is conveniently located right in the middle of the helm. The Fusion touchscreen Apollo head unit drives JL speakers for a stereo system that will leave nothing wanting. The Mercury VesselView system sits between two banks of backlit switches. The entire helm deck rises several inches on a hydraulically powered actuator which gives excellent visibility for those who want to stand and have a taller sight line. An aft facing starboard side seats electrically rises to access storage and mechanical/electrical areas.
The cockpit has a large, port-side dive door with a swim ladder that easily folds out to make boarding easy and secure even with dive gear. The transom has a recirculating livewell on either wide of the transom which not only gives the boat fishing capabilities, but also serve as convenient wet storage for drinks. The transom bench deploys for more seating and completely stores out of the way for an open cockpit setup. Plenty of cockpit hatches give access to fish/storage boxes as well as machinery and bilge space. A cooler slides out from under the leaning post for fish or drinks and easily locks back under the helm seating, completely out of the way.
With the upgraded wood cabinetry and wood flooring, the cabin is not only larger, but also feels much richer than most center consoles in class. The forward V-shaped lounge has plenty of overhead storage, two opening deck hatches, and a upgraded Smart TV with speaker system, making it a great area to hang out and beat the heat or relax at the dock. With an electric high-low table and filler cushion, the area can also easily be converted into a second berth or lounge.
Housing all the essentials, the starboard galley has a refrigerator, sink, and microwave. The head and shower are opposite the galley, right at the bottom of the cabin entrance steps. The head has solid surface countertops, overhead mirrored storage, and a separate shower stall. A large berth for two is aft, running athwartship which reduces the footprint of the cabin while also giving a wider bed than the competition. The aft berth has a closet, nightstand, reading lights, and sliding curtain for privacy.
The 409 Valor is one of the few 40’ center consoles in the market that can boast two separate berths, a developed galley, and separate shower stall – all of which make it a much more capable cruising and overnighting boat than anything it competes against. Opening deck hatches are located throughout the cabin, including in the head, for natural cross ventilation. The 6.0 kW generator and reverse cycle air conditioning keep the cabin climate controlled, underway or plugged into shore power.
