“Grand Slam” Classic 36’
Hull number 276 of 365 built by “American Marine” known as “Grand Banks”
During 1963-1973 “Grand Banks” were made in HongKong. Over 365 were built there. Highly regarded woodenboat builders, these vessels were built with yacal frames (yacal is a termite resistant and very strong hardwood) mahogany hulls, and decks with high quality teak throughout. From 1974 and beyond “Grand Banks” werebuilt of fiberglass in the Singapore yards.
Capable, reliable and economical “Grand Slam” is ready tocruise north to San Juan’s, Canada, Alaska or wherever you point the compass. From the very first glance, it is easy to see this Grand Banks has been loved and meticulously maintained and is outfitted for cruising and sitting on an anchor away from the crowds.
Handsome golden Burmese teak was used both above and below deck, a Grand Banks trademark that repeats itself throughout this yacht, and much higher quality then modern laminates used. When boarded you’ll see glossyteak parquet on the cabin soles and handcrafted teak barand drawer space, yacht table, settee, and much storagefor your voyage throughout the salon, including a second fridge/ice box under the settee. As for personal comforttake a few steps aft and visit below it’s easy to see whythis comfortable cruiser is so popular in the PNW, thegenerous aft master stateroom has been custom refit withqueen berth, full head with shower rebuilt, added hanginglocker and chest of drawers with the added touch of a Dickinson “Antarctic” diesel heater to create a flickering flame and dry heat throughout the yacht. Forwardstateroom has large hanging locker and plenty of drawer space for extras, second head, and v-berth that with addedpad turns into a double bunk for guests. This is one of
the sought after 36’ Banks that has the second setteeincreasing seating and entertaining areas.

*Updated 1.5″ stainless shaft and drip-less seal in 2014.
