A consultant arranges a video walkthrough first so you only travel for a vessel worth travelling for, then coordinates a survey and sea trial with a surveyor we have used before. Nothing moves to closing until the survey is in your hands.

What does FYI charge a buyer?

Nothing. In a standard brokerage transaction the commission is paid by the seller out of the sale proceeds, so working with an FYI consultant as a buyer costs you nothing and gets you independent representation, comparable-sale data, and someone negotiating on your side.
