"By Design" was conceived and built by a cruising couple with the desire to have the largest boat that they could handle themselves.  The result was a stunning vessel and a perfect fit!   

The Dirigo offers perhaps the most comfortable and luxurious accommodations in the class.  She has, arguably, the largest master cabin in a sub 70' yacht.  A nearly king size bed, walk in closet, abundant storage in deep drawers and lockers and even a sofa!   The master head is elegant, spacious and functional.  Guests will be treated to either a beautiful VIP opposite the galley with its own head and shower or a pedestal berth that splits to two twins the in the forepeak.  The forward head is split with a separated shower compartment, and the WC that serves as the day head as well.

The salon, is light, bright and spacious!   The u shaped seating serves for lounging purposes, but with a quick conversion of the table from coffee table to dining table form, she will accommodate 6 - 8 for dinner.  And neither use is a compromise.  

The helm leaves little to be desired in functionality, visibility or comfort.  Two Stidd captains chairs with polished chrome bases, 4 large Garmin/Volvo multifunction displays and a full complement of equipment for navigating and maneuvering. She even features an electrically activated side door to provide quick access to the side deck.  (And of course a cockpit mounted Joystick for flexibility.

The bar deck and the full galley down offer the best of both worlds.  A bar deck with Sub Zero refrigeration, ice maker, wine refrigerator, sink, trash and ample storage make entertaining in the salon and cockpit a pleasure, while the chefs kitchen, with full size Miele refrigerator, and cooking appliances will please even the most discriminating cook!

Below deck, you will find IPS 1200's which deliver a solid 27 knot cruise and 31 knot top end and perfect sight lines.   The propulsion offers sporty handling and an amazingly low noise level underway.  The Seakeeper 16 provides the stability for extra comfort.  Furthermore, the engine room has stand up headroom, and accessibility on all sides of the engines and drives.
